Ken

Every musical / storytelling program with Cowboy Ken is fun, entertaining and full of audience participation. His endearing smile, sparkle in his eye, his personal enthusiasm and his experience engage and involve his audiences right from the start. Ken has performed thousands of his highly acclaimed programs for children and family audiences throughout Southern California at preschools, schools, libraries, community events and more.

Cowboy Ken’s programs feature shows that are a combination of songs and stories but he can also provide walk-around interactive trick roping. His sings a wide variety of traditional folk songs and his stories come from true stories, tall tales and folktales that are all part of our American Heritage. Cowboy Ken performs with a 12-string guitar, trick ropes and sometimes a bull whip, puppets and magic. Depending on the program, audiences will meet some of his unique puppets which include Lana Banana, an orangutan; The Great White Bear, a polar bear cub; and Brehr Rabbit.

Audiences participate in a variety of ways during any of Cowboy Ken’s performances. Sometimes volunteers come up on stage to help him tell the Old West Stories, or to participate in a rope trick and at other times audiences will sing-along, clap-along, cheer-along or use a variety of hand and body movements as they play-along to some great traditional folk songs as well as a variety of original tunes.
